If you are running any AOSP rom that does NOT have the stock launcher (such as CM7).
You have the option of using the stock gingerbread aosp launcher. I am running it on my Nightly165 setup right now.
Please keep in mind this is ONLY FOR EVO4G.

Click here to download the flashable zip.
You must clear defaults after first boot if you are currently using ADW or Any other launcher.
You can do this by going to Settings > Applications > (App Name) > Clear Defaults.

I know there are ways to get sprints Visual Voicemail application to work with different ways of going to titanium backup and what not.
This is just a zip I put together that IS FLASHABLE, so you just flash, and enjoy. I see a few people have had troubles with getting this to work other ways.
Hopefully this helps.
This is confirmed to work on 2.3.4 based roms and 2.3.5 based roms.
ALL AOSP!!!!
Instructions
1) Download aosp-vvm package
2) Place anywhere on your sdcard.
3) Boot into recovery
4) Flash aosp-vvm pack
5) Reboot
6) Open “Voicemail” application in your app drawer.
7) ENJOY!
After opening the application (Step 6) it will provision your voicemail, this may take a few minutes, be patient.

So this is a tool that I made to generate QR barcodes so I can transfer data back and forth from my PC to my android devices. I know there are tons of easy ways to generate QR codes but I do notice it is a pain to have to go dig to a site that does it, rather just open exe, paste URL, and done. There is no catch behind it, no popups or ads in the application, nor will it ever have any. You can download the file currently on the XDA thread linked at the bottom of the image. I will post it in the software section of the site shortly. I will also post new features for what 1.8 will have in a few days. If you have any ideas for the application, feel free to let me know! Enjoy!

I know this is going to be at least useful for me, and anyone else that is familiar with wget. That’s why I got it working for the EVO (and soon for the Xoom). If you are familiar with the linux system, you should know what the wget command is
Below is a screenshot to show it works.
You must be rooted to use this.
Instructions:
1) Download zip file below to your SD card.
2) Boot into recovery and flash the zip.
3) Reboot
To use: (I will make this a easier process in next update.)
1) Open any terminal emulator of your choice.
2) type “su” without the quotes
3) type cd system/app/wget
4) type wget http://xxx.com/filename.extention

Well, it has been a while since I have been posting or the site was even available, been busy doing other stuff, but I did bring back deanfx.net so I can post all my new projects that I am working on and provide mirrors for applications I find useful to me on a daily basis. Give me a little time to revamp the links on the site and bring things back to 100%, I know a lot of the stuff on here is outdated and mostly blackberry links. If you do not already know, I moved over to the Android world and most of the stuff on here will now contain android files and stuff I am working on. Blackberry files will no longer be updated/supported on here as I do not keep up to date on what goes on there.
On another note, QR Generator Pro will be revamped for those of you who use it. I lost the original source coding during tons of formatting on my desktop, I will be re-coding the application starting today and will have beta versions out as soon as possible.
Anyway, that is all!

I see a lot of people complaining about the recently leaked copy of OS6 for the blackberry 9700. People are complaining about a white minimalistic theme after installing. There is nothing wrong with the OS and there is a very simple way to fix this.
All you have to do is load up BBSAK and delete the following COD:
net_rim_theme_tmobile_BlackBerry6_480x360_b.cod
Once you do this, you MUST do a battery pull and your phone will operate properly.
This can be done before or after the installation.

So recently trillian announced their instant messaging application with facebook and twitter feed integration for mac osx. I have used trillian in the past on my windows machine but as the updates kept on rolling in, the application seemed to be over-done. In my opinion it is way too cluttered for an instant messaging application. Adium on the other hand is a pretty smooth user friendly messaging application that integrates almost every IM protocol available. Granted trillian has the hand over adium for the web feed integration but why not just use your browser? Anyway, I won’t rant.
What do you think about the 2 clients?
Keep your comments clean!
I’ll be setting up a poll for the week shortly.
UPDATE: Poll has been setup

If you’re following me on twitter you may have seen my post about Hyperdock. Hyperdock gives you the ability to see window previews similar to how they are in windows 7 (as shown above). It has a lot of cool features, tons of settings which you can adjust to your own liking. I have installed this once I heard about it and definitely find it useful to any MacOSX user. I have not come across any bugs on it so far that would move me to not use it. As this program is still in beta stages but is stable in my opinion, please report any bugs you may find to them so they can check it out.
– The fact that you can control iTunes right from hover and see what you are listening to as well as album cover previews is definitely my favorite part of this application. Instead of having to bring the interface to front when you are in the middle of doing something, you can quickly hover and change the song or pause.
– Something I do not use a lot is the iCal application because I setup all my stuff on the calendar on my BlackBerry, but I find this pretty neat. You can see appointments or stuff that you have pending for today right by hovering over the iCal application. Not all that awesome like the iTunes controls, but this is something that I can see someone that uses their Mac for work use may find this very handy.
Give this application a shot and see what you think about it!

Although I have recently completely moved over to OSX, I occasionally use linux through my virtual drives, same goes for windows (not as often). I am a big fan of Ubuntu as a primary linux operating system for daily use. I have not yet tried the 10.10 beta but I did try the alpha version a while back. I am probably going to adjust the ubuntu on my virtual drive when the final release is out. If you are already running the 10.10 beta, leave a comment below and let us know how you like it, whats different, etc…

So I felt like checking the logs for my server the other day and found something that made me rather laugh for a while.
Lets get something straight, for all you little wanna-be “hackers”…
1) I’m not an idiot
2) I manage my servers very well and dont leave messups anywhere.
So your little shitty directory scanner won’t do you any good.
Do you really think I wouldn’t catch this? (Click here to view the log)
Nice try using a China proxy. All I’m going to say to you is…You weren’t as carefull as you thought. You left a nice footprint for me nub.
