So I just installed the leaked OS 5.0.0.592 onto my Blackberry 8900. I have to say, the phone definitely performs better than the previous leaked os that was released a few days ago (.554). I have not found any issues on this OS other than the fact that every time I load up the IM+ application, it freezes up and then terminates the application after a while. Which is not a big deal because I own full licensed copies of both Beejive and IM+. So if you are a daily IM+ user, I wouldn’t use this OS. This version does come with the new blackberry messenger. All other applications work, even the official RIM Twitter application. Everything works great. I also came by an issue when I did a battery pull and the phone was plugged into my netbook, when I inserted the battery back in, my screen would show that I do not have a battery installed and the phone would not turn on. This is not that big of a deal, all I had to do was remove the battery again, and unplug the phone from the computer, and everything booted up properly again.
If you have any other reviews on this OS, feel free to comment as this topic is open for commenting.

I do see that there are not that many Rapidshare mirrors for this OS. I am uploading it with my premium account now and I will post the download link here, this way the mirror does not die.
I do not take any responsibility of any broken phones, or any problems you may have with your device after downloading the operating system. All I am doing is providing another rapidshare mirror to download the leaked OS itself. Keep in mind that this is NOT AN OFFICIAL RELEASE! This is for testing purposes only.

I just stumbled upon the Wacom Cintiq 21UX.
Anybody who is very serious into graphic design (and can afford it) should definitely take a look into this nifty wacom. I own the Wacom Bamboo which does more than enough and comes to use for me in a lot of my projects. However, The Cintiq has on-screen drawing where you can actually see what you are doing as well as TONS of other features that the Bamboo can’t even touch. Below are some of the general specs on the product. You can find out more about this by clicking the link below. If you do actually pick the Cintiq up (doesn’t matter the 12 or 21); or own one already. Definitely shoot me an e-mail, I would love to see how you like it and get your review on it.
Find out more about the Cintiq here.

So I just got my hands on a copy of the latest Unreleased official copy of the Blackberry Twitter application.
I got to play with it a little bit, and I must say it has a very nice and simple interface which makes it very user friendly. It is pretty fast, no holdtime upon going to a different tab (replies, messages…etc…). I have noticed it is lacking a “Send to Background” feature. However if you just hit the end button on your phone it will continue to fetch new twits upon whatever refresh time you have set in the options menu. I am definitely going to be using this for a while to see how I like it. I am an owner of the full Tweetgenious & Ubertwitter applications which are very nice but it is nice for a little bit of change.
They are using the official Twitter icon for the application icon & message indicator which was a givin.
Other than that, I have nothing really bad to say about the application other than it would be pretty cool if you could manage multiple twitter accounts. I am sure this will be a feature on the official release. (Hopefully).
Anyway, checkout the screenshots below, I will post updates on more of the application after a few days of use and abuse

I have setup the subdomain m.deanfx.net for my mobile viewers.
This is nothing special but it does make it easier and definitely speeds up the process of seeing my latest posts here on deanfx.net. Here you can read the full entries of the updates that I have posted here, or see a quick description (if any) to the specific post.
Please keep in mind that if you are an iPhone/iPod touch user, continue visiting my site by just going to deanfx.net as there is a plugin that converts the site to a mobile view anyway. This is more for the other smartphone visitors.

So I recently started using gPodder to download some podcasts that I listen to. I never used this before, You may have, however I figured I would give it a post on here. It is a quick way for me to keep track of all the podcasts I listen to on my netbook so I can quickly download the most updated ones and transfer them onto my mobile device. It also has a area where you can search top podcasts and subscribe to them (as I have done in the image below) so you can try out different ones. You can download gPodder for free for windows/linux & MAC at gPodder.org. You have to signup for an account by going to their website, after e-mail validation it is a matter of seconds before you start downloading all your favorite podcasts! Check it out and let me know how you like it!

I know that there are a lot of short URL generators out there. However almost all of them you need to make an account for, and have to deal with the advertisements and long wait time for the load. So for this reason I have launched Snipy. Snipy is a fast way to generate shorter URL’s for your own use without having to deal with all the other headachs. There is no advertising, popups, redirection failures…etc. The service is free to use and does NOT have any restrictions. All links are saved in our database so that if a duplicate link has been added to be shortened, the old short url will be given to you rather provide you with a new URL via snipy.
If you choose to use this service I hope you enjoy it and pass it on to your friends. It is also very handy for mobile use as the load time for Snipy is extremely fast due to almost nothing for the page to load other than text. If you have any ideas or advice that you think would make the service better, feel free to shoot me an e-mail and I will do what I can.

What a nightmare!
Let me start off by saying twitter’s support is HORRID! It took me over 7 hours to just explain to the rep exactly what the problem was.
Long story short, my account was one of those select few accounts that on tuesday they reset the passwords for protection due to the source posted in the previous post.
It locked out my account for about 10 hours…Then I finally got home and was able to get to the password reset form. Now the question it asked me in order to proceed was…what is the cell phone number linked to this account. Now…It was setup to my iPhone number which I no longer have nor remembered. After a few hours of pondering, I remembered that I had linked my AIM screen name to foward messages to my iPhone. So I logged in there, and sure enough!!! The number was stored in the log (thank god).
So I was just able to reset my password and now @deanfx is back in my hands. (No thanks to twitter support at all).
They should definitely consider changing that support center and who works for it before thinking this social networking site is going to get any bigger…
Absolutely ridiculous. Just a funny note…my ticket is still opened with them with no response after one of their stupid responses.

Well unfortunately I am unable to login to my twitter account.
From what I can grasp over the internet and google, is that this is for some sort of protection.
What I find absolutely rediculous is that I can not reset my password via e-mail. I have to open a support ticket, or reset it through a linked phone number (which doesn’t work anyway).
I opened a trouble ticket with Twitter for this, hopefully this gets resolved fast.
I am curious to see if anybody elses account was effected by this…If so, I left comments open on this topic, let me know.
I’ll keep everyone posted!

Just wanted to announce that a good friend of mine Spenca has finally come back to the online world!
I am hosting his new website YouGotRooted.com (YGR) which should be all setup by the end of the night.
You will be seeing a lot of work being released from him as well as providing a pretty nice exploit database.
All the work that is done by him will also be posted here as it is a great addition to our network to have him as an affiliate. He has just hopped onto twitter. Not sure if he has done anything with it yet or how often he will be on, however you can catch him at @yougotrooted.
Anyway, be sure to check out his site, as I am sure he is working on it as I type.
Welcome to the network Spenca!

As you can tell I yet again, made some changes to the site. If you are a common visitor you’ll know by now I like to make changes to the site often. The reason for this post is because I have setup a plugin that allows the website to be viewed as a mobile version on the iPhone which allows you to visit the site on you phone faster by removing images and what not. This however does NOT work for blackberrys and other smartphones. I am in the process of putting together a mobile version of the site that will work for all mobile browsers (if detected) so you don’t have to wait for the regular website to load. The url will most likely be m.deanfx.net.
I will make a post when this has been completed so you can start visiting my site without waiting forever.
Anyway, feedback on the new look of the site would be greatly appreciated, as well as any ideas you may have to make the site better.
I am also in the works of setting up a forum for developers and graphic designers which is almost ready, just have to tweak it a bit before I go on announcing its launch.
That’s all for now!
Have a safe and happy new year!
